By the way Ableton if you ever look at this forum: here's a spontaneous example (unpolished) of the type of music I'm trying to create on stage and why I'm asking for this functionality:

It's just impossible to stay connected to the audience and build this stuff at the same time. Auto punch out of clip slot recording would fix that...

Anyone who has been following this thread should take a look at this! You can get away from the need to drag clips out of the looper!

I know this thread is a little old, but ironlion just hit me up on the Cycling forums. It is possible using M4L to automate the Drag Me function. It's not in the LOM and can't be done through the Live API but you can use a combination of API controls and mouse emulations to accomplish it. The only limitations I've found are that to get it to work I had to build in a short delay between mouse actions and because the mouse control is attached to screen pixels you have to be careful about rearranging the tracks and such or you may have to recalculate the mouse movements.

Hey everyone, I did finally come out with the Clip Slot Looper (audio and MIDI versions) for Ableton. These eliminate the need to drag loops and are very powerful:
