What was the most awesome way your computer failed you at a gig.

Ask them what type of underpants they wear.

And whether they think that has had any bearing on their success.

I would ask them about how much of their music is hardware (keyboards, mics, hard-wired effect racks) and how much is the Ableton software.

Assuming they switched TO Ableton Live from something else: If they had to only pick 1 feature that made them switch what was it?

I would assume Session View but there's so many good answers. For me, it's the ability to preview clips/tracks/songs in the browser with your current song, and if it works, just drag and drop right in.

which do they care about more?
- girls asking who wrote that banger?
- living solely from the moeny you made from your music?
- hearing a tune you just made and finding yourself playing it over and over, grinning ear to ear.


ask them what they'd like to ask other producers.

if they could bang any chick in all of history, who would it be?

what tool do they wish someone would get off their ass and invent?

what advice would they give a kid who's just starting out, hasn't made a song yet but is looking forward to headlining Coachella?

who's making the best music these days?

when was the best music coming out?

do they think less of a vocalist that uses autotune?

are the Black Eyed Peas sellouts or industry geniuses redefining the artists' side of the music industry?

if you had one decision to change, what would it be? what was your biggest mistake coming up in the industry?

does music theory knowledge matter?

can you share one trick with the readers that you wish you'd known earlier?

When did they decide to take the plunge, quit their day job and go "pro?" Did it involve being independently wealthy or lots of savings? How did they save AND buy gear when they weren't pro?

I have a heap of respect for this guy.

In this interview, I have also learned more respect for the talents of deadmau5 & skrillex. I don't really care for their music ( just a personal taste thing ), but the talent these guys possess seems pretty inspiring.
