Personally, I don't care what they do with the main site.

However, the forum is ugly and glarey and the font in the forum is still too small.
Looks like something from the 90s.

^^This^^ I mean. Who fucking cares, seriously? I shut the inter-netz off when I'm making music so I don't get distracted by this bullshit. I love the forums but fuck man, go make some music!!

+1 for the new logo

it creates a well known optical illusion if you look at it long enough...dots and shadows appear at the bar ends..i think it still captures the arrange/session thing

mark of a good logo, like nike for example, is you see it, you know what it is instantly, so like it or not that logo (and the old vesion) is a homerun

website? cheeze...well aged Famundah Cheez....( for those who dont know, thats the cheez famundah yer ballz)

At first I thought it was an April fools joke. But when I remembered that it was actually October, I vomited a little.

I've been reading the mixed views, and one thing that strikes me, is the impartial view that some Live users say they have over 'Visual arts and internet media' regarding the new site and it's new logo.

I feel the point has been missed a bit, not that I can't see everyones view, but, it is important to me in a way, that a company decides to change design of a logo, that they really consider if it's damged enough to warrant changing if they do then anything they produce needs to be for the right reasons.

The trouble is, the new Ableton logo, is now going to be everywhere, from magazines to adverts on the web and banners at trade shows and high street, and some positive connection from users towards the whole design of Ableton it's software, tutorials, videos and promotional information is on the whole, quite improtant.

I really don't like the new logo, as I can't see what was wrong with the old one, let alone what caused the new one to be born, I don't want to bore anyone, but the point is, the badge you wear is the badge you wear.

It has some retro appeal, for us older gentlemen.

Huge step forward. They are definitely skirting the boundaries of art house/cutting edge design - lack of rounded corners, no gradients, use of photos - which like any new style can be jarring at first, but over time I think will be widely appreciated. Further this better reflects the design of the app ui.

Besides, this is music technology brand, I couldn't think of anyone better suited or that I'd prefer pushing the boundaries of design.

Less huge text, please
Which is ironic, since none of Ableton's software (yet) can work on a tablet/smartphone. So why try to cater to them? & even if you do want to make it tablet-friendly, just do a header lookup & make a CSS just for them!

At least my middle-finger is getting a workout (mouse wheel).

That trend was already there at least 5 years ago. Placing too much edgy plain components is already outdated and looks amateurish...

i dislike it, but more importantly: it stopped working and is continuously crashing my chrome, which is sort of annoying since i really wanted to give a new look on the prices since they apparently changed them, but since it's crashing all the freaking time...don't really fancy installing a new browser just for that either so yeah.
