what's funny, i wished the same for my korg nanos, the apc40, etc, i like to control hardware, it allow me to get rid of keyboards and replace them with their rack version (mks, tx, nord micro, etc)

yeah well Akai saves $1.12 or some minuscule number like that a unit... then they multiply that number times projected sales, thanks APC 40!, and decide that the increase in the bottom line is worth it. Mint Invader is their perfect target... they got you in their site boi!

agreed that 550 is off the radar. that's why i don't own an APC 40, the justification for the expense was never there... i can already tell i'd love Push. i program drums but record bass, guitar and vocals... so a clip launcher with knobs and faders was no where near as attractive as a... a real controller.

1 thing i don't get is the apc has like 60 leds and yet cant be bus powered, the push has well over 100 plus a 4 lines display and still can be bus powered, what'S the catch?
cheaper low power leds?

 shiiit... same deal i described before, but in reverse... Akai says "those bus powered LEDs cost $1.12 a unit more... carry the one... add a comma... yeah lets skip those. we don't even know if this things gonna sell."
