Bidule vs Max/MSP
I liken Bidule to a ramped-up version of the PC-only program Audiomulch ie Audiomulch is visually based, easy to learn, and when you want to take it to the next step, you can go for Bidule. Max/MSP is similar to Reaktor in that you can build your own instruments, but whereas Reaktor is able to be used on a more visual level (you don't need to get into maths until later on), Max/MSP is more of a challenge earlier on in that it's not a visually based interface ie you need to get right in there and start playing with numbers. In short, you can get a large variety of sounds out of Reaktor with little work in contrast to Max/MSP, though both are very deep in their own ways. Andrew
