Studio Setup

Post by xpl2003 » Mon Apr 11, 2005 5:38 pm

Nice to see all the feedback.

I have decided i will sell some of my hardware synths next week.

With the likes of Reaktor 5 coming out im sure that will be essential purchase and midi controllers, im lucky to have a high spec PC which havent had any problems loading VSTi's i will continue using some of the fab synths i have found.

I will also be getting rid of of my PC monitors and purchasing some nice TFT 17inch/19inch screens for dual display and better space to put stuff.

Seems the studio pics that people posted give me ideas of what im looking to achieve.

Peace

Thats all the advice you need.

Either keep them or swap them for another instrument. NEVER sell them for a stupid price. It's just not worth it unless you are completely broke or something.

You may always come back to it one day and it may "click" with you.

Access Virus

Post by xpl2003 » Tue Apr 12, 2005 8:46 pm

Well.. I decided to have a play with my virus rack and by god does it sound sweet. It has loads of presets which sound awesome and im sure it would be good as an effects unit from what i hear.

Theres one on ebay at the moment for £300 i got mine alot cheaper and didnt realise it was a good version of the virus.

Also sound quality is very good.

Good gravy! Keep 'em both. You're saving CPU power by using hardware synths, and shit, you actually have some hardware to use.

If you are having trouble with the Waldorf Q's interface, map the controls to your MIDI controller, and make a neat template. I'm working on a template for my ESQ-1 on my BCR2000. It makes everything a lot easier.

Alternatively, how much do you want for your Q? :D

If the Virus TI is going to upped the ante I would sell the old Virus for a better one soon.
