Thanks for your message H2Only, i'm glad that you like it!
Since 20 days now that I use it, I'm browsing my thousands of .wav much much much faster....
I've been able to localize .wav that I wouldn't have found without it!
I'm happy if you enjoy it

i was just thinking that it's very cool that you just up and decided to fix it by writing a program. you go dude!!!
i definitely had to bump the thread for that. hopefully it will help someone else too. extra points for giving it away free of charge!!
i recently switched to Mac so i can't try it out on my music machine, but i still have a Windows laptop with Live 8 installed... so i'll give it a go eventually...
stay cool.

So it doesn't work in XP?
I'm still on old XP because it works and the process for me to upgrade is weeks of setup. I tried in XP and it doesn't work. Shame, it looks really neat.

Just in case anyone is looking for a more "full featured" sample browser, I have found a decent one for PC here:
http://ifoundasound.com/Index.php?page_id=6
Allows browsing of samples (WAV, BWAV, MP3, AIFF, etc, has a basic editor, can create projects that open when you open projects in programs such as Ableton, allows tagging and comments for any files and will search these, can collect samples together and place in a folder... Quite an impressive set of features actually and they offer a fully functional free version (limited to 8000 samples) plus a 2 month trial on the Pro version. Cost for licence is under $100.
Tests I have done are great and it looks like it might be added to my work tools for that price.

Too bad it's OSX only. I have heard of that somewhere else....probably here in another thread lol. Looks/sounds like a cool product (didn't waste time to see how much they whack you for).
$69 for a file browser? I can just search files & press my space bar to preview any sound file I find. (On Mac OSX)

Yeah I figured it does, I was being a bit of an arse, but couldn't get past the price. I bought
Aalto recently for less. (I know, completely different beasts, but hell I'm having a lot of fun with Aalto!)

Yeah I've owned Audio Finder for a couple years now, and was loath to use it until recently. My files were in such bad shape I wanted to do an initial clean up before letting Audio Finder do it's job.

Love love love the tiny waveform previews!

AF is the perfect tool to help you organize.
functions like auto rename.
auto serialize.
batch convert.
I mostly use AF for browsing my archived record collection and snipping out chunks for samples.
just high light the section of wave form, and control drag to a specific location, or just drag right onto the icon of another DAW, or editor.
That is my favorite feature.
Also for auto-chopping, AF is a great tool.
have fun

Yes my
http://www.jeuxdorgues.com/audioexplorer/ software doesn't work for XP, it's so sad.
It uses a feature of Win Vista, Win 7, Win 8, so it won't be available for Win XP, sorry...
But it works great for Win Vista, Win 7, Win 8
@revA : thanks
@jestermgee: the soft "ifoundasound" looks good, but I really wanted integration in Windows Explorer (instead of having to use a third-party software), so that I can keep my habits to browse files/folders : browse with Windows Explorer, easy copy/paste, etc.
