Maybe *.alc files allow you to do something like this. But it's a cumbersome workaround.

Re: Save previews for presets in Live 9
The problem with .als files is that you need to click them to preview and they take a little longer to load. Not exactly the instant preview you would expect in a 2017 DAW. Especially annoying because the functionality exist for the native racks.
I would be okay if I could make a preset audio loop for each rack that can be triggered each time I select that rack inside the browser.

Re: Save previews for presets in Live 9
Please add this functionality to Live 10!
Factory Packs create *.agd.ogg sound preview files and *.agd.ogg.alc clip files and place them in a separate folder from the browsing.
Please add a way to use this same technique for User Presets.
I use the User Library to organize all my favorite Ableton factory/partner sounds and my plug-in sounds into one location. It saves time from jumping between multiple folders, browsing thru presets I don't want, and allows me to organize all of them in a structure that helps my workflow.
I'm OK to create my own preview clips, but we need a way to link them to the instrument/drum rack presets. It'd be nice if the previews were saved in a single, separate folder, so they don't double the number of files in the folder you're browsing.
Basically, please make it possible to duplicate what your factory pack partners do for user presets. The capability is there for pack developers, but we don't have it.
If Ableton is not going to add this option, how do I become a Pack developer so I can get access to this?
