the Beyers are really comfy and the sound engulfs your ears. it might not be very noticeable. it's too bad you can't borrow a set to give em a go.

you can't go wrong with the M50s, i'm sure you know this... my only beef with those is that if i wear them for an extended period of time the plastic around my ears begins to get hot... honestly though, you shouldn't wear headphones that long to begin with. it was an issue for me when i was flying from San Francisco to Washington DC... i don't fly all the way across the continental US that often though... on the flip side of that argument the M50s fold up and fit in your bag way better... the Beyers are not really a set of cans meant to leave the studio.

you've really put yourself in a win win situation. you're going to have a great set of head phones either way.

Is the dt880 box huge? I dont want it to take much place in my luggages...

Problem with the m50 is that it is not an upgrade in sound and I would be cleverer to put that money toward a superior headphone.

Also when I'll be in Canada, the price of the dt880 will probably be higher than in Japan.

my DT 880 Pro's came with a boxy zip up nylon case with foam inside, definitely not small (about 26 x 22 x 12 cm)...

yeah, they'll take up a lot more room that your M50s. they don't fold up... at all vs. the ATH M50s which by contrast fold down to a workable size.
