Why not have the record button always activate arrangement record when in session view on the Push? There would be no reason to use session record while in session view, right?

I released a new version (v1.0.3) of my Push script mods that allows Shift + Record to toggle Arrangement Record.

I may already know this answer...but when you move the files in, they don't overwrite the old files (push.py for instance) because .pyc is a different file type. do we delete the duplicates when we combine the files?

No, there is no need to delete anything. You should, however, back up the current Push script folder before transferring the modified files as covered in the included pdf.

the script is described as emulating push on other devices...will any of ur script interfere with the native script that we already have for push? trying to understand how these things work

For the sake of clarity, the name of the thread relates to emulating Push with other controllers. The thread contains a Push Script Mods section where you'll find modifications to the Push MIDI Remote Script. And, yes, these modifications do modify the functionality of the Push MIDI Remote Script.
