Awesome! In the change log there was something about indexing blocking out the UI during startup and I'm guessing that was the problem we had, looking forward to updating and not having to deal with that anymoreAcid303 wrote:Moosebear wrote:Hmnn. This is concerning. I am thinking about getting one of the new MBPr Haswell machines when they come out. This would be a conversion to the Mac side for me: what attracts me more than anything else is the quality tech support. But with this thread, I'm finding myself wondering if I should get a windows machine instead... anyone else have the Beta 9.05 running smoother on a MBPr?
Hi, just downloaded the latest beta 32 bit and it is running much better - fast startup - no beachball on menus. This is more like it.

Maybe I spoke to soon. It isn't really much better at all.

I have this problem too. Ridiculously annoying. It's the only program I have that does this.

The latest Live 32 bit seems to run heaps smoother than 64 bit on Mac. Try both.

9.05 beta 64bit running great on OSX Mountain Lion. No more beachball at startup (well rarely and not for long if so).
Professional Shark Jumper.

32 bit is crap for me. Tried 64 bit before and made no difference. Was thinking of upgrading my hard drive to SSD but might be a fruitless exercise if it's just ableton being bad.

I'm too attached to certain plugins to move to 64-bit, don't want to mess with bridge and there aren't 64bit versions
I'm considering using the 64-bit version for live sets because I don't need those plugins, but at the same time I'm not sure if I trust Live 9 yet.. at least the beach ball bullshit is being addressed
