I agree. I'm planning on playing around with it more tonight and seeing if I can do anything to fix the inconsistency by "breaking-it-in". If not, I'll have to reconsider whether or not I wanna resell this equipment, because as good as it could be in theory, it just isn't in practice. Someone else may find it more usable. I will be corresponding with Ableton support and post back if they have any other information about this.

I don't know, I think breaking the pads in sounds about right. Lots of different equipment needs a breaking in stage in order to reach it's optimal range. Hopefully it is just a case of breaking the pads in.

Also you got to remember that Akai engineered the Push controller. If anyone knows anything about pads it's them lads.

That's what I had thought too. I have an AKAI MPK Mini and its pads are fantastic. Very responsive. Can't say the same about Push. I hope they are right about the break-in period. I asked them for more details about the breaking-in period and what exactly is it that we're breaking in (as in the actual pad material or if its adaptive circuitry).

I'm okay with it if there is a break-in period , but at the same time don't want to get caught passing my return/exchange time with the supplier if needed..

Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but I have the same problem. Vastly inconsistent output velocity for more or less the same force on the pad. Has there been a solution? Do I have a faulty unit perhaps (I bought used)?

Thanks for sharing the tip, but did you have to write in All Caps? That's screaming on the net.
