Update…
I ran disk warrior and did the OS X Mavericks upgrade. After completion I ran disk warrior again. I then updated the Apogee Maestro software for ensemble, fast and easy all went well. Opened up Live and proceeded to work for four hours without any pops or crackles. I then opened logic 10 and experienced the same, no crackling. I even played iTunes radio for about an hour and there were no signs of any audio crackling. For now I can say I am crackle free… the ensemble, as of now, sounds very crisp and clean again. Time will tell. Will report back if anything changes.

Thanks for the reply! That is great news but are you still crackle free? I've had times when I was crackle free for a week or so and then it would come right back.
Let me know if you're still crackle free.

As of my last post October 31 till now November 11, yes, so far so good but I too am leery. Will report back if things change…

Mavericks 10.9.4 and back to the same old shit.. I will never again purchase an Apogee interface. Abandoned longevity support. Sorry for the rant, I'm just pissed!
