While conducting your experiments, you should really put the Limiter device on the Master, otherwise, if you constantly run it hot, you WILL ruin those beautiful speakers of yours :!:

I did not put a limiter but took the advice in this thread, bounced the track out, brought it back in and watched the master carefully and set it to peak at -4. Should be safe ya?

Yeah, should be safe now. But I have the Limiter always on the Master (already in my template). This way you can go as crazy as you wish without worrying. Better safe than sorry, I say!

Before you bounce your tracks, once your song is finished and you did the proper gain staging, you can of course remove the Limiter and do the Mastering.

Bought Izotope Trash2 after playing with the demo for about 4 minutes. Love it. Gritty topper preset is almost exactly what I was doing but cleaner sounding.
