Well, i see it useful to be able to solo midi notes, and maybe I was not clear of what I wanted.

My setup is for Live to trigger via midi a hardware analog drum machine and to control it in real-time as a live performance. The audio from the machine goes to a mixer and to a set of speaker, so it is not routed back into the computer for processing. Muting/soloing midi notes is useful for performance: to mute parts of a pattern (like a snare) or solo parts (like the hi-hats) in real-time whenever I want.

Thank you for the tip on Push mapping. I saw a post on it but not sure it is the same you mentioned. Probably you mean this mapping?

Thanks again. I am looking forward to have the controller here to play with it :P

No that's what I meant:

It changes dramaticaly how Lives devices will appear on Push.
This works in all modes, not just user mode

I also remembered, that there is a tool that allows you to solo note lanes.

It's called PXT Live (google it, every Push owner should buy this!!!)
It lives in the user mode.

Here you can solo note lanes. But not in the pad mode, but in the step sequencer.
It has this really great step sequencer where you see 8 of your pads at the same time (with 8 steps each).
Here you can then press Solo while holding one of the resolution buttons on the side of the grid. Thus Soloing the corresponding note lane.

PXT Live (maybe plus?) has a note muting function that's really nice. You can quickly mute and unmute various note lanes in a particular clip, which is great for building up drum parts clip by clip once you have a solid drum loop going.
