"voyager" the first MP3 listed sounds pretty good. Everythingelse annoys me pretty much.

personally, not my kind of grass, or as the brits would say, not my cup of tea.

but if i had to pick one it would be the first one. still very mediocre, sounds like your typical home made electronia, there's nothing to remember it by, and lacks drive. the rest are just real bad.

my 2 cents,
peace

its just my way of saying i wouldnt be a fair judge of your music. but since i smoke and dont drink tea, thought it would be more appropraite. i cant produce for shit, but i promote what i like and run events. im into studying human relations and business

anyway, if someone likes your shit, go with it man, fuckin do it. give em hell

you should take the replies on here for what thay are worth....which is aint shit. understanding the way emotional beings work, no one that truly thinks your music is any good will post anything positive about it, or post at all

and if they do its to make their name look good, and be a patron of sorts for the 'little' people, which is everyone but them. no one gives a shit about anyone except themselves...and if it seems that they do, its because it makes them feel good to give a shit about you

guess what im trying to say, is that it can do more harm than good to you, to post your music on any fuckin forum...if you want an honest opinion (if there is such a thing), get djs to play your music, and watch the crowd...

but what da fuk do i know, im just a fukin pot head., and dont forget to "smoke weed every day..."

peace

yeah I hear what you are saying... its dosent affect me emotionally (positive or negative) if people say something is good or bad of mine... somebody could say its the biggest bag of shit in the world & it wouldnt bother me, in fact if 1,000's of people all said it was shit it wouldnt bother me, it would just mean id be thinking "right, well it doesnt look like youll be selling many of these"..its just how I am..dunno if its got something to do with how ive been brought up.. maybe im an musical psychopath 8O. I just thought id do some market research thats all... maybe like you say a forum is not the best place to do it.. it was just an idea I had a couple of days ago thats all...

anyway some people are asking me about what equipment was used on the tracks so here goes

VOYAGER

Bassline + Second Melody (stacato) = Waldorf Pulse
Pads = Absynth 2 (Nice Mobilhom Phaser from ohmforce)
Strings = Juno 60 + Pro 53
Drums = Battery + some Reaktor thing I cant remember the name of
FX noise = various samples I made

Sequenced & Mixed on SX1

CONTINUUM

all sounds (apart from little vox sample) where made on a Waldorf Microwave XT (not mine).. great machine.. sequenced & mixed on Cubase SX 1

BANG THE BOX

all sounds apart from vocal sample (me) and a clap sample + a sub 808 kick.. are from the Microtonic drum machine... heavily proccesed though.. think I used the FATMAN 1 compressor as a distortian unit (dont use the compressor on it as I dont like it)

Ableton live was used to sequence (cant imagaine writing this with anything else) + mixed in SX1

QUADRANT

Bassline = waldorf pulse
Bass Line Copy (Higher Octave) = Reaktor 4 running Photone Synth
Drums = all samples used impulse & battery
FX noises = All made with Reakor (think it was limelite)

Sequneced in Ableton, mixed in SX1
-------------------------

I think the FX on all these was the Ohmforce bundle + EQ was Sonalksis.. I think compression was mainly the FMR RNC hardware unit (i use that a lot) I use some other free plugins but they are mainly mad ones...

lol ... cynical as hell, but more than a little bit true

good one ;)

if you're stuff really stands out and is at all exceptional, you will get pm's and emails about it. rarely props on the forums from people who dont already know you personally or your work from third party sources (bought your tracks, saw someone else buy/chart them)

PS: this is another reason for a seperate live music forum here with a real rating system. it will draw out the few people who are giving objective opinions and advice

I dont see the big deal with posting tracks. As long as u put in the subject that here are tracks to check out. If you dont want to checkum than dont, and for those that do, hey this maybe a chance to get your musik out there. Not that your going make some groundbreaking record deal but maybe some connections.

Oh yea ct, Since your were asking which ones the best I'm going to say "Bang the Box" For its vocal sample was genious. To me it has a drum and bass backdrop. I dig the 808 kick bass you were pointing out. I like the distorted sound.

Im dont use alot of software. I use more analog equipment, but i do have a alot of demos on the mac like Absynth and pro 53 is really sweet. I do use ohm force's free plug in and Tracks master suite by ik multimedia. I do plan on picking up Operator as well for its easy compatiblity and less cpu usage for me that is.

Just a thought!

Im not saying that the General Forum should be filled with nothing but music Post.

We just need to have a quick way to get to the (Post your Music) Topic.

I think the forum should stay in realm of using Ableton in the sequencing process thats all

Peace

I enjoyed bang the box and continum the most.

Bang the box is at a nice groovin tempo. Not "prime time" material but like someone said it definitely works and seems that it would get a dance floor moving. Even though I voted for continum on closer listen this is probably my favorite.

Continum is nice as well. It has a sparse, cold basic channel feel to it, but the pads don't quite work for me. They maybe have too much presence, take up too much of the space you've got going on.

[edit] But again, on second listen maybe the pads don't take up too much space......I don't know what it is, maybe I just think basic channel when I hear this and it isn't quite as spacious as basic channel? I like it though. [end edit]

Quadrant didn't do much for me and Voyager, although it had fat sounding synths, I did not like it at all.

Everything was well put together though. Nice work.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your music.
I like Continuum pretty well, and Voyager, of course very different vibes.
Yeah, I don't know if this board is the best "test market", but it seems like an excellent place to solicit more detailed critiques.
