Here there are for example commercial TV channels. They are "free", meaning: if you want to watch them free you have to wait/watch commercials, too. Otherwise you pay a fee and you are free from them. It is the same for youtube, isn't it?

Regarding the NSA, just realize this (once for all): NOBODY give a fuck about you, your love affairs, your porno movies folder and other harmless skeletons in the closet of yours. The ones who feel outraged about all this crap is because of three reasons:
(1) they are terrorists, thieves, murderers, dealers, politicians, corrupted policemen etc.
(2) they don't trust the government when claiming to be "democratic" and respectful of emendament somewhat about free speech and opinion.
(3) they make too much of themselves, think they are important (but the sad truth is that NOBODY give a damn about their lives).

The REAL scandal is WAR, not that bad copy of Orwell's Big Brother...

how about we democraticly decide whether or not a kid can bring a peanut butter sandwich to school since that one kid is allergic? freedoms are trampled on every day. it doesn't take a world stage or your blinders to infect my life. in fact, there are wrongs committed everywhere all the time and it doesn't take an American to be behind them... it usually just takes money or profit. when one of those gets threatened the talons come out and people are abused or killed. why can't you see that we are all in this together?

Well, you really think the U.S.A. government is a dictatorial one? I mean: like Chile, Argentina, Syria, Russia etc.?! If yes, I must disagree with you. the U.S.A. are a very strange country, very contradictory... for instance they have death penalty, no social state, they have to pay hospitals etc. These things make us (european) laugh about. But this does not mean they are kind of a dictatorship, where activists are killed. I see people which I respect and admire (american anarchists and/or people like Stallman, Chomsky etc.) and I can see they are free to express their opinions and belief. What I hate about the U.S.A. is:
(1) their gov. foreign policy, always aimed to WAR and PROFIT.
(2) their fear of "terrorism": american people believe it is for real!

But if you say all this spy matter crap can be dangerous because Obama is like Pinochet, Videla, Assad, Putin or such... well, no.
