Where did you find this wonderous, yet slightly useless information?
dallas!
i would like to say that it was sent to me by sasha's management in preparation for a gig he is doing down my local boozer on Saturday night, but in reality i just lifted it from MercuryServer.

Dan and Donald just need a bottle of goose, turntables and a mixer and blow up super tough - I'm just being funny
that's cool (Sasha's set up)
I wonder what Carl's rider looks like - a bangin system and a bunch of models
don't forget the large floating heads all over the club - kinda cool, kinda creepy, to know Carl is watching
What if all DJ's started putting their heads up all over the club it would be weird because there's some really ugly DJ's out there who are really good - weird...ok I need to wake up

get over the sasha bashing guys..
as for the picture, i doubt its authenticity because nobody would ever have speakers in that position due to massive phase problems..

ok, its official, Sasha is an idiot. You dont play live audio with wireless shit. Thats a sure fire way to get less than the best from a system. Bluetooth is a drain on everything, and hes touring with it...I cant help but laugh heartily.

I beg to differ, thats just how my 2-man band sets up our monitors.
Phase issues? thery're
monitors fer gossakes. They need to be: balanced stereo (read:equidistant), loud (hence the request for subs), and provide a direct sense of the top end so that you can play in time - not hear whats slapping back off the venue's back wall.
Setting up monitors like that is a time-honoured technique called Side-Fill. Try it, you'll like it!!
cheers

It would seem that that set up would phaze out any mono waves. Thats why most monitoers are set up in FRONT of the listener, not the sides pointing inwards... ?

if there's phasing, you either
a. hit the phase reverse on the monitor desk on one channel
b. insert a phase-reverse adaptor on the send to the monitor power
c. worst case reverse the phase at the power amp output
it's absolutely normal protocol for live stages.
cheers

nothing like inserting a phase reverse adapter in the middle of a set

this is poor stage setup...another abomination brought to you by DJ culture. Wont work with mono signals

actually, you take care of that stuff before doors open,
that's what sound check and sound engineers are for.
the only way your going to completely defeat phasing is by wearing cans.
the side fill has been in use since professional monitors came about in the 60's.

Sidefill - I saw him use this side fill before about 5 years ago in Cambridge(UK), massive stage area with 2 dirty great monitors about 10 feet apart pointing in. Makes perfect sense to me.

obviously why he's using the ultra portable G5 iMac. duh!
the funny thing about that rider is that if you take it literally the promoter or club owner have to come up with a custom piece of furniture. 4x8 table with cut-out for a V6? no problem, got one right here.
and dj monitors are set up that way all the time.

When his set gets to boring it might be good to know he's on wireless
