is this about how under CATEGORIES, there is a sub-category called "Plug-ins"?

and by GROUP it, does it mean like how we GROUP TRACKS together?

yes this is about taking those plugins and putting them under PLACES where there is the User Library and under that Presets.

can someone please explain to me what's going on here? browse NI Massive presets within the PUSH browser? Group things? Save the preset?

When you "save the preset" you mean that you would now open up LIVE not by clicking on the LIVE icon, but you would click on your saved file that has the "preset"?

Couldn't we already just browse 3rd party plugins by CATEGORIES > Plug-ins? or was i wrong?

if it helps, I have Live 9 Suite 30 day trial that came with the PUSH, previously Live 8 user.

Are you saying you would put all the 3rd party plugins in here?
BTW, how come the menus are empty? Analog, Drum, Collision are all empty

Now, are we trying to put those 3rd party plugins under the "PLACES > USER LIBRARY > PRESETS"?

My Main Question is:
Why don't we all put our gigabytes of our custom samples (.wav clips) under CATEGORIES > Samples?
And put our 3rd Party Plugins under CATEGORIES > Plug-ins?

wouldn't that work or does that not work with the PUSH?

1.- The folders there are empty because PLACES> USER LIBRARY >Presets is for User created content. When you create your presets and store them there following The library folder structure (under Analog/Bass for example) they will also be shown in Sounds and Instruments.

2.- So for your VST:

Create an instrument rack with it and saved it in: PLACES > USER LIBRARY > PRESETS>Instruments>Instruments Racks, and they will show in the upper categories. You could even put them in to one of the "sound categories (Bass, pad, keys,...)".

The way the browser work is not clear at all, there should be a tutorial.

you can't get to your custom samples in Push unless you already have one of them in a sampler or simpler. drum rack hits are different:

Currently it is not possible to load samples other than Drum Hits from the Live 9 Library, therefore all folders containing only samples will be hidden.

Drum Hits can be browsed for and loaded when editing a Drum Rack Pad or simply by pressing Browse when on a MIDI track. You will then find them under the category Drum Hits.

If you load an individual Drum Hit, it will load contained in an instance of Simpler.

Here is a list of file types that can be loaded directly from Push’s browser:

.amxd = ableton max for Live device (contains the Max for Live device which can be edited and modified with Max)
.adg = ableton device group files (contains the preset for e.g. Instrument-, Drum- or Audio Effect Racks)
.adv = ableton device preset (contains a stored variation of a Live device)

A work-around is to create a Simpler/Sampler preset containing the sample you wish to be able to browse for/load via Push and save it to your User Library or a folder added to Places.
