as far as I know does machine not have rubber on it :)

That rubber coating reminds me to my first logitech mice which all wear off very quickly :)

Logitech meanwhile no longer produce mice with rubber coating but thick ribber sides which no longer wear off

Hopefully Push will last longer, especial after some gigs where I cant guarantee to have clean finger

That video of wearing away of the rubber has put me off! Looks like just a L9 upgrade then.......

groupies can be problematic.

i wonder if the guy in the video has really sweaty hands or something that may have sped up the process, or if it's just a matter of rubbing on the nylon and/or zipper of the bag??

also, maybe some kind of clear coat lacquer could be carefully applied for those that are really planing to push the limits.

To null out that factor I just get a proper case to give my Push a safe home :)

^ if i had to wager on it... i bet that will be the wisest move.

after all, it is still an instrument... just like a guitar or violin... both of which are handled with care and put in plush cases, but neither of which can provide an entire musical ensemble - like Push

It looks great but I think I'll wait even as long as Push 2 before making that jump. Looks like theres a few bad design flaws regarding the buttons and lights plus whats up with user mode!?..... touchable 2 will suffice for now me thinks!

I voted yes, even though I don't even have it yet, but the unit in the store I frequent, has almost all writing of the buttons erased already. (It looks like a ten year old computer keyboard from a highly frequented internet cafe).
This is a small, but serious design flaw.
I wonder could this be remedied by the user, by simple sticking transparent tape on them, or would that come off too often, taking paint with it and making the problem actually worse?!

Mine started fade in the corners. I have been carrying my push from the studio to my home in a laptop bag… I do it also with a padkontrol and others controllers and didn't fade the paint.
If there isn't a garantie solution will be possible that Ableton sells in a reasonable price covers or skins like NI?
I've found this. So is possible to make it. PLEASE!!

You only have to carry your push unit in a laptop bag...

It looks like wear from being slid in and out of a backpack. I started noticing that was happening to mine. I just started being more aware of it and made sure to open my bag all the way so it doesn't rub against anything when sliding it in.

Mine still looks good ever since I've gotten it in November 2013. I do only use it for the studio and use a decksaver to cover it. All buttons still working.

When i noticed it in my unit i decided not to travel more with it and leave my unit always in the studio. The rubber paint isnt good for gigs, travel with, lives...
