You can disagree with this one, it's waaaay too mainstream.

Black Eyed Peas - Don't Phunk With My Heart.

I think one of 3 or 4 songs off the radio / tv i've liked in the last several years.

nouvelle vague is a french trio - the album is very good the first couple of times you listen to it, then you think - wait a minute, this is just kitch for the sake of it. they're murdering classic tracks here, this is music for people with sheer haircuts and art school posuers, in fact - thats the crowd that go to optimo :D

william basinski - disintegration loops (beautiful ambient music)
autechre - untilted (a no brainer)
stars of the lid - the tired sounds of... (yet more ambient)
bitstream - one third standard lux (nice electronic album)
phrizzm - phrizzm ep (good fun)

are whats been spinning on my hard disc recently

The MFAs, The Difference it Makes, darned, I should have purchased James Holden's Balance 005 compilation CD long time ago. That song is oh so clever with the deliberate compressor pumping (guess everywhere now in progressive house tracks) and the wobbly vocoderlike song that is in there, after all.

Sometimes I rediscover music that just did not hit me the first time through. One such artist is Shulman. Usually I like things a little more beat oriented and low end but Shulman has a way of mixing sound and building emotional passages that are just incredible to me. His last record came out last year I think but he is on tour very soon. http://www.shulman.info/discog.htm

One of the thing that pleased me since March, Camille "le fil": only vocals and beatbox (one from Saian Supa Crew), pretty, very funny and smart, it will just make you happy. Try it!!

Caged baby on Southern fried. very accessable 80's influenced (for a change!) pop. really well produced (me thinks)

Hexstatic (ninja)

Cut Copy. more 80's syle pop from Austrailia

and...... the Timo Mass mix cd that came with Mixmag (uk) last month still sounds wicked (to me anyway)

Hi hoffman2k

that mix you put up on the forum hoffman2k is wicked. I couldn't work out which internet station it was from.

Can you post a link.
