I never have to clean the pads as I don't operate it with dirty hands and fingers, and more importantly, I use Decksavers' Push cover. It's overpriced (found it cheapest I could for £34 some months back), but def worth it. I can't imagine the dust buildup it would have had by now if it wasn't snugly covered when not in use - those pads are particle magnets.

Many products come with plastic bags or wrapped in that thin styrofoam sheet. I used to use those. Then I got lazy. I got sick of throwing a bunch of things aside when not in use and then putting them all back on top when I was all jammed out.
Now all my gear is starting to look ugly but more 'inviting'
I'm less afraid to just be a punk.

Like every1 else who ownes a Push, i to have the dust dissaster. So today i came up with a superb idea. You can buy one of those sticky clothing rollers. Very cheap and effective. 2 times rolling over the rubber knobs and completely removed all the dust. Plus....!!! The buttons where sticky again, like you just have bought your Precious Push brand new!!

I use a unused paint brush for removing the dust and after that wipe it gently with a slightly wet cotton cloth. Just rinse the cloth under water then wring it as dry as you can, it should just be slightly humid, not wet and certainly not leaking water.
This is the only correct way to clean any of your stuff and what's written in any operations manual. Using chemicals on rubber/plastic and electronic components is pointless at best and probably even pretty bad.
