Hello,
I usually use multiple instruments grouped together.

Is there a way to lock Push to just one instrument even when you click on the group channel to adjust something?
Currently Push always jumps to that channel so that I no longer can play the instrument while adjusting the Group channels effects.

Is that possible with PXT ?

Yes PXT does allow you to easily lock to things. you can lock to clips, tracks, devices, drum racks and even drumrack pads I believe.

.... And yes I do now find PXT live indispensable. A couple of weeks ago I arrived home from working away and the Live 9 beta I was using had auto updated to a version which no longer recognised PXT!!

I was genuinely distressed and found it hard to even start Live up without it. Got it sorted finally, but won't be using the beta again anytime soon. Shame cos it has some good additions, but...

I've been using computers and hardware to make music for over twenty years and the term 'workstation' has been hanging around all that time. But in my opinion the best work station is finally here in Live/Push/PXT. Buy it! There's so much goodness in PXT if you have push, and honestly $20?

Be warned though, the extexnded functionality comes by the use of modifiers, every key effectively becomes a modifier or set of modifiers for every other key. No other way to incorporate all the extras really. It turns Push into a 'production instrument', and it needs to be learned like any other instrument. Worth the effort though, and a REAL step towards true mouselessness.

just crazy.

I feel I'm pretty comfy overall with the default so it's time to start taking a serious look into this.

Hello,
when I press the Session Button while in PXT User Mode, I should be able to set the loop length with the bottom part of the pads.
This works but the loop is somhow odd, what am i missing please:

Thats the selction when I select a range of 4 (green) pads.

TomViolenz wrote:That's a small bug, that's supossedly fixed in the next PXTbeta. For now make shure to select the start of the loop first and then the end. (instead of the other way around, as you probably did).
Ok , good to know, once the loop length is broken It makes no change in which order I select the start or end. Any workaround to reset?

I have one small issue with PXT. Generally I can't speak highly enough of the Push/PXT combination but this one irks me somewhat.
When using the navigate function, the zoom vertically with the encoder doesn't really zoom the track correctly. The track expands in height but the waveform or midi data doesn't actually zoom as it does when using the mouse. Also when reducing the height of a track from it's initial state there's no zoom down either, meaning waveform/midi data just gets covered by the narrowing track height. Using the mouse doesn't appear to cause this issue.

I realise this is something I should and will bring up with Stray specifically, but I thought I might mention it here just in case it has already been covered somewhere in another thread.

Any info or work arounds would be most welcome.

A beta version of PXT-Live is available that adds 9.1.2 compatibility as well as a variety of other features.

This is a known issue and, as TomViolenz mentioned, is fixed in the current beta version.

This is a known issue and is not specific to PXT-Live, it’s a bug in Live’s API. I’ve reported it to Ableton (and provided them with an M4L patch that demonstrates it), but they have yet to comment on it unfortunately.
