For Windows, the main problem for me is that none of the "tablets" have a USB port on the tablet for control surfaces (only for charging). Surface 2 pro does, but it is very expensive compared to the < $400 tablets now on the market (I tried an Asus T100, and it ran Ableton fine, but I couldn't use a Launchpad unless it was attached to the dock (which I didn't try, since for me that was a deal breaker). So I returned it, and upgraded my netbook (Toshiba NB305) to Win7 from WinXP, which is slower to boot, but doable for simple backing sets).

(Note: Lauchpad Mini is not recognized by WinXP, although Launchpad S is. Microsoft has stopped support for XP, so the mfr.'s probably won't be supporting it either in the future...)

Ahh, Cubase, the program with an 57-step installation process. Got their AI install disc with a Yamaha synth a few years ago. I tried 3 times to install that thing on a spare PC, finally just gave up. Thanks, that's all the Cubase preview I needed :-)
i started with SX3 (PC) and i'm currently on version 7.5 (Mac) so i have no idea how many more steps it would take to install the free version that came with your keyboard. i ran the installer and then configured audio and devices... it was probably closer to 7 steps than 57, for me.

I'm certain there are functional ways to install Cubase, since some people are using it. That free disc doesn't seem to be one of them. I posted a narrative how it stumped my 3 install attempts on Motifator that I'd link to except that the thread is gone. Well, that's one way to deal with a QC problem... :-)

Hey! It's october 2015, and this problem still was not soved (live suite 9.2.3 32bit)
I'm having the same problem with my tablet. It's chinese pipo w3 on atom cpus with samsung emmc.
Ok, the symptoms are EXACTLY the same!
Records, but no play; but when just save, it plays. And so on. The topicstarter did it well.
I'm registered suite user.
Fl studio demo, as a test, records and plays with no issues.
mme or asio is same result.
Usb or internal soundcard is no matter, too.
