Interesting that you'd choose Mandela, who fought against segregation in SA, and Ghandi, who favored it

Nope. The Prinsevlag actually predates the apartheid era by a good 20 years, having been adopted as South Africa's national flag in 1928. To claim that it is somehow synonymous with apartheid belies grotesque historical ignorance.

Incidentally, it is also the flag that South Africans, black, white and coloured alike, fought under as they battled the Nazis in WW2.

As such, I feel it is a better symbol of Mandela's noble vision of racial unity than the present South African flag, which symbolises little except the country's 20-year slide into its current 3rd world hell-hole status.

Why would you choose that flag, which did fly under apartheid, when the current flag was chosen when Mandela was released from prison? Because you want to re-write history and say that SA was better off before Mandela? Please.

There are a lot of things about Gandhi that aren't great, but you have to look at the whole picture. Mandela and MLK were able to and both looked up to Gandhi and took inspiration from him. If you aren't impressed by what Gandhi was able to achieve, I don't really understand you at all.
