Digital Performer.
I've always oscillated between Live and an old school DAW.
Years ago Logic and for quite some time DP8. I like options, Live is great, especially for looping, but generally there is one way to do something, older DAWs have multiple approaches to the same task. Plus the lack of universal assignable key commands and the dependency on the mouse or trackpad to switch between or resize the interface is a real time killer in my book. Other areas of Live are totally well thought out, and getting a basic idea going, or forcing a piece of audio to fit a beat etc. are all super easy in Live, but when it comes to putting the finishing touches on a song, it all slows down in the sludge of the 'user friendlessness' of the interface.

I've used FL Studio, Logic and Reason, but none do it like Live. So I'd have to go with Bit... oh wait.

I've always been a fan of Digital Performer's UI. I'm surprised that more Live users haven't considered DP a viable alternative.

Audacity. I use hardware instruments. I don't need a DAW with all the bells n' whistles. I like to print audio with my hardware effects anyways. I know that eliminates the "redo/undo" feature once effects are recorded. But, I find myself spending too much time with software effects because it's endless tweaking.

I started with Live after Mackie bought Tracktion. Now that Jules is back at the helm I'd probably just go back to it. However, if I were on a pc it would be FLS. And none of those choices replaces Reaper in my setup.
