I should turn my Maschine into a 2D pressure sensitive foot controller get some use out of it.

Remember that you can test this with any midi device by assigning cc# 64 and making sure that signal is sending to whatever is armed (and dangerous!.. not really. Bad joke). It's a good way to test the waters before getting your feet wet.. ... ....

Unfortunately I just came across the FBV MKii floorboard's manual, page 50 and onwards, detailing its use with Ableton Live especially page 54. Mapping the wah/express pedal to a Live parameter with a range for example...

I kinda want the Softstep. But it is expensive.

Oh, another fun thing is to do a search for DIY sustain pedal. Be sure to have a spare quarter inch jack and paper clip handy

No, midi pedalboard/footcontroller are a different thing.
Just take a simple sustain pedal, the cheaper are generally lighter and thus tend to move on the floor, which can be inconvenient, but not a big deal. Little less cheap like M-Audio SP1 ones are more solid but needs more force to press, which I personally find inconvenient.
BTW, you just need an electric contact (on/off) sent as CC64, so plug a guitar jack in Push's input 1, glue an aluminium foil to your shoe and touch the other side of the jack with it... here you are, sustain pedal !

The guys with polarity issues probably have... polarity issues, I mean something in the brain.
If you press the pedal while plugin it the polarity will be reversed, so you shouldn't worry about this.

I'm totaly new to pedals, what kind of functionality can I get from the Softstep and would this interfere with Push or enhance it?!

I like the idea of having one controler for the hands and one for the feet!

I asume you get all this functionality through midi assignment. Doesn't that interfere with Push wanting to control the same parameters?!

It has 4 MIDI channels, so I suppose it won't interfere with Push if you map it on channel 2, 3 or 4. I linked to a PDF manual where the manual explains in detail its operation with DAWs, one of them being Live.

Yeah that Softstep does seem real nice, but it's too much money for something I don't really need. I think in the end I'm actually just gonna get nothing. Maybe a simple sustain pedal.

With a set up like this you could look like the digital version of the street musicians of yore, who played the dums, guitarre and flute etc. through one weird looking contraption
