It works, but it's a pain in the ass because you have to shift arm a track and select+track select to play it.
You should make a suggestion or a bug report on the beta forum if you're in the beta group. Otherwise let me know and I'll do it.

I cannot check myself just yet as I am rebuilding my studio rigs but in the Beta release notes today some changes for Push:

* [FIXED] Audio clip recording could be interrupted when choosing another track with Push, even if Exclusive Arm is deactivated in Live's preferences.

I urge anyone who actually wants Live improved and bugs/issues addressed that they join and contribute to the Beta program. They have addressed and fixed a number of issues some of us have had rather quickly.

so it's a bug?

Yeah it is fixed, but as the OP suggested, it would be nice to be able to "lock" the recording on a resampling track.
Because (and it's logical) btw if you trigger a clip recording with the "new" button, it will record a new clip in every armed tracks, e.g also in the "resampling" track.

yes there needs to a 'lock" function
i'm not using the beta but 9.1 so hopefully this gets fixed soon

it also sounds like the OP maybe had "exclusive arm" selected too?

thanks but whether the track is exclusive armed or not doesn't fix it for me

Just tested it on my setup with Exclusive Arm and Solo off in 9.1. If you move to another track with the arrow buttons the resampling track stops, but you can move to another track by going back to the Session page, selecting the new track from there with the track selection buttons and hitting the Notes button. For the Up and Down arrows you can deactivate the Stop buttons of all other clips in the track with Cmd + E, though it will still stop if you go Up or Down into the Scene with the recording clip. It does need to get a better fix.
