Ima just say, that this is the push discussion. Not to be mr anal asshat but if you don't have push and only have live 8, then this really isn't the place to discuss this.
EDIT: Push has a swing/quantize/percentage control. All you have to do is set it to what you want for a clip and it's there.

And how do you selectively quantize notes on the push? You just can quantize all notes in a clip. This is so retarded. Sorry, can't help myself. Now with Live 12.1 and the new midi functions, there's still no function to quantize towards shuffle. What is this garbage? Why isn't someone building something like the Push for his DAW? Push 3 delivered with missing functions in the clip editor so you have to use the beta. New bugs, new issues added with every release. Natural, simply to implement functions just overlooked and missing. Beta version after beta version for months. There's something really wrong over there in Berlin.

This is a 12.1 beta push functionality; that a session can reference other groves as its default. And I believe if you toggle through the tempo knob options, this groove can then be applied.
This may be only adjacent to what you are asking, but I thought I'd mention it
