Will there be support for Altivec? Ever? Never? I thought we were supposed to get that in 4. C'mon Ableton, we've been asking since 2001 and it never materializes. This is version 5 for crying out loud.

Here's a mini-feature I've wanted - if I drag a new VST instrument into the blank area and it creates a new MIDI track, it would be great if the MIDI track's name was the name of the VST instrument (plus maybe an index or whatever.)

i want to echo these questions/hopes. not having the I/O in the arrangement view has annoyed the p*ss outta me since it was omitted in 4. i remember beta testing 4 and quite a few of us making a fuss about that and them replying that they would re-implement it...ummm...never happened!

an audio slicer built-in, would be huge!!!

agree..

but 2 questions one cannot learn from the beta;
- will there be altivec and/or dual cpu support?
- why no sync option with simplers lfo?

- will there be multiple midi outs for midi clock/sync?
- will there be a highquality offline timestretch algorithm?
- will the scroll left/right functionality also be assigneable to shortcutkeys?

Are you sure about this? This is my most-desired feature. The idea is to record midi to clip from a VSTi nested in Live, VSTi which can produce random beats or notes... Will this be possible?

something i was always searching for was to enlarge clips in session-view. its sometimes really hard to write a samples name in 10 letters

another wish-feature is the implementation of audiounits of garageband and the jam packs.

My short list here:
+ Tempo mapping the Arrange (or in Seesions) to a clip.
Some 'musicians' do NOT like to quantize EVERY song to a constant tempo!
(Maybe allow one to select a clip with beat markers and apply it to the Global tempo... basically reverse its function.)
+ Quicktime movie sync yet?
+ Copy Arrange with ALL automation to another song in one pass?
+ CPU optimizations??
+Rewire stability with large Live docs...
etc..
