Hi all thanks for the replies, I took it that waves implied that intro 9 wasn't supported and I thought this was strange as ableton live 9 is on there list of supported products. Anyway I got back in touch with waves support and they are going to have a look round my system from there end and find what the problem is. I'll report back when its resolved.
