About the bass - it depends. As a general rule with these - if it sounds just a little more bassy than usual on the 600s, there's probably too much bass, judging by past experience. They're very close to neutral (I don't think true flat phones exist, correct me if I'm wrong)from 100hz to 4khz, yet don't sound harsh or anything. There is a fall-off starting at around 100Hz, yet you can still hear subs pretty well. Though you can be sure your subs will be overpowering if they're prominent on the 600s.
But it's probably a matter of degree.
(below 45Hz it feels more like pressure than sound and attack is almost non-existant, that's where the speakers become absolutely necessary)
