So far have only watched some of the respective free and YT vids of Dubspot and Pointblank so what do i know but to me Dubspot comes across a lot more reliable and credible than Pointblank.No hard facts though, just an impression.I will say that i think Thavius Beck (Dubspot instructor) is an incredible talented instructor (watch some of his tutorials on YT), went to a real life lecture of his (when he promoted the Launchpad) once and it was really worth it.

Just a few questions... How long have you been producing for? What sort of music do you produce?

Have you ever thought about approaching an artist you like and seeing if they will be your mentor? paid of course, but I have found this way to be quite good for my personal development, one on one and specifically tailored to your needs.

Ive been following Point Blanks tutorials online for a good couple of years now. I really like them personally, very concise and to the point unlike a lot of the waffle you can find on youtube. I particularly enjoy Skis deconstructions and the free course samples, theyve really helped develop my music theory knowledge.

I don't think the content is shit, i think it is overpriced.

what i call shit is not the content actually, it is behave.
Behaving like actually using it, not advertising. trying to fool people with their little minds.
I don't know about the content though, it may be good.

I think Dubspot does a good job. If you learn well in a classroom setting it can get you up to speed quicker than watching a lot of Youtube videos.

I always fancied doing the "Point Blank Online" Sound Design course. It looked really interesting and looked like it did some in depth Reaktor tutorials. Looks like i missed my chance though as it's no longer on their website. I do also quite like the look of the ECM course they do too.

I've thought it over and for anyone I will come stay with you for a $3k month and be your live-in Live tutor.

I tried Warp Academy. It was amazing! I got 4x more than what I was expecting with Pointblank, and it was half the price.

I highly recommend Warp Academy.

The subscription concept and website/video/course layout seems to be the same as Digitaltutors.com, who are totally excellent when it comes to learning CG, especially Maya. I wonder if Warp's videos are of similar quality. The monthly price is also nice and low.

I think if you're gonna skip free YouTube and other online resources, I'd definitely take a look at Warp Academy, judging by my learning experience with Digitaltutors.

Was this an online course? I am considering in-person class at their new location in LA.

Warp Academy online videos def seem better than Point Blanks online videos - too bad Warp doesn't have in-person classes.

I'm in the middle of the PB mastering course right now and, even though I have mastered my own stuff for release in the past, and have a degree in music technology, I am learning loads. One of the things I thought an online course might be is like Wikipedia, just reading loads and loads of text, esp as mastering theory can be really scientific but it's paced well and doesn't feel like info overload and is interactive. Even audio fundamentals about acoustics and AD/DAC that I already knew were explained so well it kind of re-clarified them for me, and now I think about them in a different way.

Having been working in music production for over 10 years, the PB course has been both a great refresher and had me thinking about audio in new ways. really enjoying it
