I love it when people make confident predictions based on little data and their own fantasies about what Ableton is like.

So let me play 8)

Given that they are a small company, with a small development team (which is why comparisons with Apple don't hold) I don't see them rolling out a major new version of either the software or Push very soon.

I would say 2016 for Live 10 at the very earliest.

Since this thread is already running - I saw Ableton 10 already listed on a site for pre-order, price included. It was taken down since then, but the site is still cached by search engines.

I wouldn't trust that shenanigans. I could set up a site right now collecting "pre orders". In the event of any upcoming Live announcement it would most likely be at Winter NAMM, which is in mid January, and thats just the announcement, then theres the last stages of closed beta, then the public beta, then the application goes on sale a few months later. So lets say thats May 2015 .

Any sites asking for money now are con sites.

It's an estabilished shop's site, not some new business or a prank. Premiere time given was "end of 2014". I don't know, maybe it was some kind of a mistake, but I doubt it. The site listed different versions (standard, suite) complete with pricing. No Push Mk2 mentioned though

The only hit I get for Ableton Live 10 is a blog post by someone who says that Ableton will be forced to release 10 early by the coming of the 'highly anticipated Bitwig'

I also wonder... why people like to update so often? arent you busy making music? you really want to shell out the upgrade price every two years?

I tend to agree with the original post, at least regarding a major Push update, and probably within the next few months. I have no proper basis, just the impression I get going by the Beta site.

I am a hopeless optimist though.

Either way, Push works great currently (EDIT: apart from the FUCKING ANNOYING "Press up/down arrow" crap and the browser), but the requested features would be very welcome.

Bitwig is a lot slicker than I originally thought it would be. Needs a little more time in the oven though....

Still I might get it since it's come way down in price (I think 254 at jrr shop, and I think you can take an additional 11% off, not sure about that yet though)

It does some things better than live for sure (which if anyone cares, I'll outline) and works fairly well with push.

It's an easy question to answer, but people in your camp usually don't like the answer. The bottom line is that though I can live with certain things in live, I have a tendency to wish live would do certain things it currently doesn't do OR could do better. Has nothing to do with "oooo look, new shiny" but that camp usually thinks that.

I really don't like a lot of things in Live 9 and hope they can be improved.
that's not to say Live 10 will fix them, but I can at least hope.

Well for me that is usually something like: Give me time stretching in Sampler and Midi control over the loop controls and such things, and what gets delivered then is a tacked on Melodyne.
Upgrades usually don't give me what I want.

That said, a few of the things in Live 9 that I didn't ask for, but got anyways are pretty cool. (The new EQ8 and Glue Compressor mostly.)

Live 9 is good. Why update so soon? Ploughed enough money into Abes already I'll stick with 9 and any push updates that are boss. More than enough to make music ;)
