Aside from Superior Drummer samples (tons of room ambience) I don't really use many softsynths and I can still easily eat up 80% of my 16G on a basic project. Once it gets crowded it slows down, keep that in mind as well. My 6G laptop has the capacity to run some of my desktop projects but takes AGES to load and is way too finicky with playback.
