I have the same laptop and I had very similar issues -- Live was starting painfully slowly (took about 2-5 minutes to start, not to mention opening projects)... In fact, I still believe Live should not behave like that -- users should NOT wait for ages until it simply starts. I actually wonder what it does exactly for all those minutes -- scanning plugins each time? Indexing?

And then, like many, I updated internal SSD to Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500 GB and also added 16 GB RAM. It is a day and night experience now, heartily recommended.
