Any local record store that carries electronic music can get you anything. Just gotta ask. Seriously I was very surprised when I asked for certain records. Yoji Biomehanika kicks ass. I saw him a few years ago at Dance Valley. It's like my secret sin. I spin minimal/micro house/techno and produce it as well. But on my way to work its all Yoji mixes really loud on the freeway. California traffic sucks and Hard Dance is the only cure for it !

Aron's , DMC, Freeclouds (OC). Melrose is a very good place to start too.

Is it easy to change the channel on the UC-33? Can it be done with one button? Can preset CC configurations be recalled with one button?

I'm on the fence with this one... but it's a lot cheaper than building a custom MIDI controller. :?
You have 4 preset recall buttons.
For the other presets, you will need to enter the number after pressing the recall button.
Same procedure to change midi channels.

Pretty easy to customize.

wheres a good place to buy electronic music records? (mostly trance or hard trance). is it possible to buy the same tracks that Armin Van Buuren uses? what about Yoji Biomehanika? (his live set at Sensation Black 2004 was AWESOME)
you could always get CD decks, some of the new ones are really cool with the spinning platters.. then you could still get your tracks of Beatport (or whatever) and burn to CD.. though I suppose CD comps are a good cheap way of getting loads choons...

BTW I use www.juno.co.uk for most of my buying...

has anyone ever had their midi controller kinda skip, jump, or mess up in any way?
Livewire.
UC33 + Audiophile Firewire works just fine for me.
but i do not use a crossfader when mixing generally.
as far as levels and eqs go, its solid. a little latency, but solid.

Theres a store called Streetsounds on Melrose. The owners name is Bob. He gave up being a doctor to run a dance record store. True.

Tell him The Retard sent you.

Have you considered the new Behringer BCD-2000 DJ Controller?

Dealers are taking pre-orders and it should be shipping soon. The street price I'm seeing in US dollars is $149. It includes DJing software but of course, you'll be using this with Live. ;) I'm looking to snag one as soon as they start shipping. I first looked into the Hercules but it just seemed to much a toy.

I think Behringer has done a great thing with the new controller...and the price is perfectly right.

Good luck!

yea ive seen the Behringer, and its nice, but not what i'm looking for. So far i think i'm gonna get a Mawzer. it solves all my problems.

and thanks for the links guys. i guess all i need is a midi controller and an audio interface. and that Juno Records website is really helping me out.

i have some more questions though. Is it possible to sync the the lighting in the club to my music using MIDI? If it is then how would I do it? Do I need extra hardware?
