this.

the intentions are good when i set out to do this, but reading the same page 3, 4, 5 times and not remembering anything about it is a constant deterrent.

also, if you're trying to learn something new... the verbiage is everything. by the time a new user understands all the syntax, they're not a new user anymore. for experienced users RTFM makes sense. for a new user... not so much.

i'm not saying the information isn't there... i'm saying that it's not digestible.
when every sentence introduces a term or concept that you do not understand, it makes understanding the original concept arduous at best.

having an interactive method of putting you where you need to be would be really cool, even if it's nearly impossible.

That would the the Built in lessons that come with Live. You do the lessons and you grasp the basic concepts, you then built over them.

*sigh*

i guess you're having a hard time grasping the part where we want to look at what we DO NOT already know. we were having a side conversation about interactive lessons that separate the portions of the topic someone knows and understands from the portions of the topic they could use some additional (beyond generic) help with.

just to be clear; we are aware that there are lessons in Live that show you stuff.
personally, i saw them in Live versions 4-9 as i upgraded to the next version along the way.
