Pfffffffoei finally got it to work. I've had intensive contact with ableton support over the last few days and they had never experienced anything like my issues. So eventually they send me a diagnostics test app and I've responded with the below email, which I post here to hopefully help someone else on these forums.
--------------
Hey Johannes,
So I followed up your advice downloaded the program and made 2 videos. 1 screencap and 1 of me filming the Push while doing the tests. Added these to this mail.
Not sure how your diagnosics program works. Does it need to check everything by itself when I open it or? Anyhow I pushed a lot of buttons and stuff, tried a lot of things as you can see in the video.
Unfortunately I don't think it's behaving as it should since I don't see anything turn green as you said. The only thing it was reacting on was the display test which turned to the colors or shapes I selected in the menu.
Soooo I've been thinking ahead and thought of a different solution to check if it's really the graphics card that is causing the issues. Steps I took were:
- Restarted Pc got into the BIOS and changed my primary GPU to "Onboard", saved changes and restarted and swapped the HDMI cable from my external GPU port to my onboard GPU port.
- When I did that I didn't get any screen at all anymore so.
- Turned off my PC, opened it up and pulled out my graphics card, booted and I got my screen back again.
- Got into Windows, turned on Push, started live and the screen didn't turn blank but still nothing was lit. The push logo just remained visible didn't do anything still.
- So I opened up your GPU check app and saw that only openGL 1.1 was installed on the onboard GPU not openGL 2.1+ as you suggested.
- Googled my motherboard chipset and checked if there was a additional driver download or something for the onboard and fortunately it was.
- Installed it, run your GPU app again and bam openGL 4.2 was running.
- So I turned on the Push, opened Live and guess what... it has the same behaviour as it had when I had my 1070 GTX plugged in my Pc.
- So that tells me that it's probably actually NOT the GPU that's causing the issue.
- Got to a second hand website found someone who sold Windows 10 for 16,50. Made a boot USB stick. And did a clean install of Windows 10.
- Redownloaded Live Intro again and installed it. AND IT FINALLY WORRRKSSS!!!
My god, it's been 4 days, took me 12 hours, call costs to Berlin and USA (25,- euro's) and 16,50 for a Windows 10 license. But it finally works! Sorry for the long read but maybe hopefully you can use this in the future if someone has these issue's like me.
Want to thank you for the support the last few days!
Finally can start making some awesome music with your amazing Push 2!
Cheers,
Youri
