Hotswap a sample in Simpler - expectations

at the presentation, not the problem.

The new simpler is what finally pushed me to upgrade from 8, but as I have an extensive back catalog of unused music purchases I need to test drive I don’t think it will be until at least March until I am staring this scenario in the face. Seems like a very reasonable request for Ableton to make this behavior user definable. Maybe it will be by the time I get around to it. But my music production is a little closer to Hip Hop so I may not even know what you are going on about.

It's 2023 and this still hasn't been addressed, I'm speechless. This is such a huge oversight.
I realize some people don't need this, but where's the problem with just offering both ways?
If you want the default Simpler settings for a new sample you just open a new simpler instance. If you hot-swap the sample, it should keep all the settings as they are and just replace the sample, I mean isn't that the whole point of hot-swapping?!

I like everything about Simpler, but this grinds my gears so much, I might have to switch to some 3rd party VST, because of this ridiculous oversight.
Live is still the best DAW for me, but man, always these stupid little things that take decades to be fixed

Finally. As of 12.1:

Swap the Sample Inside of a Simpler: Select a Simpler device and press the swap button. In the bottom left of the browser there is a toggle switch that allows you to change where you want to hot-swap the device you’ve selected, or the sample inside of it. Swapping the sample allows you to retain the device and macro mapping settings.
