I might know someone, i can shoot him an email but send me me PM if you want. Btw that book Mauro05 linked to is pretty spot on.zXShadow wrote:Does anybody know any good classes that teach electronic music? Im not talking about a youtube tutorial, I mean meeting with, or talking to someone real time for a lesson. Skype works too.
It's 100% a mental game, i had to make some radical changes a couple of years ago, i went from not finishing any tracks in years to signing an EP last year and my tracks have been getting support from various DJs. I just about finished my first EP of the year today and that's the fastest yet. I never thought i'd get to this point but i did.
I do still watch tutorials but i know specifically the areas i want to work on cause i've finished a few track and only by doing that did i discover what my weak areas. But i put making music first.
You've kinda got to flip it on it's head which is great cause creating is the the whole point and you learn so much by going through the process, then rinse and repeat. You should start to see progress after a few tracks and you can actually measure that, don't matter how bad they are which is the the point of that video; you have to finish a bunch of work to get to the good stuff.
