Right. I checked that out but it doesn't seem to accept blue hand control. Mapping its knobs to the Out Hi knobs on the Velocity devices works so it's somewhat usable but I'd rather not dedicate global midi mappings to use it with my controller. If I find some time I might dig into figuring out if it would be possible for me to get the blue hand stuffs working.
The velocity device thing seems a good idea. I guess the other thing you could do if 16 macros doesn't work is be a bit clever in assigning your macros on the drum rack e.g. open and closed hats on the same one, all the toms on the same one etc. It would be less flexible but still useful.
Well, I already sort of went down that route with a 3-band crossover rack after the drum rack (which I might bump up to 4 bands) that I can at least use for DJ-style mixing.

I'm not sure whether any 16 macro thing will accept blue hand because AFAIK blue hand is predicated on 8 macros. it locks 8 controllers to the macros but I don't think will do more than 8. Maybe there's an 8 macro Max device where you could use that and the macros in the drum rack, and use a key to shift blue hand between the two, would that give you what you need?

Well, I got the velocity as gain working close enough with the Velocity device and MultiMapper (mapping each of Drive at 0-50%, Compand at 0-50%) and Output Hi (at 0-100% to MultiMappers one knob). Mapping the MultiMapper's Input knobs to Map8 device's knobs then does work but I'm stuck in that Map8 apparently doesn't allow you to rename its knobs and having three Map8s with all of their knbos labeled as "Input" is pretty useless. I've opened this thread over in the Max For Live subforum to see if anyone can help with that: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=222343
