yea, Devo covered Reznor's original.
they put it on the "Pioneers Got Scalped" release in 1990.

Pretty Hate Machine was released in 1989.

I 'm pretty sure it was 88, I remmember being ten when it was "unground" and new. My older sister's hot goth friend got me into it. Course it it could have been really bad and I would have sworn buy it!
