We joke about Live 11 because its impossible to guess what they will do. We can hope, but that's all.
As for features I'd like to see in Live 10, or things I'd like to complain about - the list is very long, but by now it is well known. Any old forum people could probably recite my greivances and Ableton have a dart board with my face on. Every day I bump against limitations, probably 50% of them will be adressed in Live 10, the remainder will simply be left ... some features will arive which I like, some will arrive which I hate.
And by 2018, the best case scenario is I live long enough to release my next collection of greatest moans & rants

Surprised you didn't include a song about the browser on that album to be honest.

I think at this point the limitations are more in the software than the hardware. There's plenty of power available in modern CPUs but most developers have yet to optimize their software to fully take advantage of the high CPU-core counts and expanded RAM common in modern computers.
Yes, this is true. I'm not sure of how much of well-optimized code there is in
Live or other DAWs, but there are performance limitations currently in
Live at least. How much of this that is due to code that can be further optimised I don't know. Optimising code can be very expensive and time-consuming.
Personally, I feel optimising code execution is more important than any nice new feature. I'd love polyphonic aftertouch and MPE, but I don't see that fitting into the current performance state of
Live, that barely is within the acceptable as I see it. Not bad though.
And I also think that the Automation Delay Compensation added to
9.2 was pretty
major. It changed everything.

Yeah, why leave out that grievance point? And where are the 3 remix versions of
The Lack Of… you promised for the re-release, Angstrom? Is it coming?

I'm just too busy working on my weeks long Wagnerian song cycle entitled "opening takes eternity" and my gothic blues album "arrangements inflexible hell ".
They are takimg a while because opening Live takes an eternity and arranging in Live is hell.
Am I doing this right?

You mean complaining? Yeah, I think you're on the right track.

Yes, I was just about to post that I was wrong about the whole thing.
I was also surprised that this post bothered anyone because there were other speculation threads elsewhere. I'll gladly contribute to an Ableton Web Storage support fund if there is any issues with unnecessary postings in the Lounge. I now realize that this entire thread may have wasted Kilobytes of storage.
(Slinks away in shame)

I'm posting this in all the discussions that are discussing MPE support to try and get support for this feature (so apologies for cross posting):
I had a reply from Ableton support that MPE support isn't currently planned. Their suggestion is: if we want this feature we should up vote it on the beta site. I recommend all of us that want this do what their support suggests. It takes two minutes to register with their beta site here:
https://ableton.centercode.com/welcome/
Then once you have an account, login and click on Live 9 and suggestions.
There are two MPE related suggestions
SUG-1678 (created a year ago) with 28 upvotes:
https://ableton.centercode.com/project/ ... ee7537053a
and
SUG-0982 (created 2 years ago) with 38 upvotes

If you want MPE support then please make your voice heard!

After Live 9.9.9b9 they'll have no other choice than to upgrade.
