I accept your data but nevertheless as I'm a user of a 2009 MBP, a 2011 MBP, a 2012 MBP and a 2015 MBP — all being 15" quadcores except the 2009 — and used Live 9 on all of them with Mavericks, El Capitan and now Sierra I can only share my experience that I've encountered no speed issues and I'm very sensitive to these as well.
I'm not saying you don't have any problems with what you do, but even if there would be a speed difference it pales compared to the CoreAudio bug fixed in macOS 10.12. Which is really only a big problem with certain products, but it's a PITA when you encounter this.
Or were you disagreeing with the CoreAudio bug as well? Not real? for anyone?
