I'm quite concerned about my results. I'm not running anything in the background (antivirus, firewall etc) so not sure why it should be this high.

Before I set the power managment to Always On (i.e. turning off SpeedStep), it went jumping erratically between 20 and 40%.
This machine's fan is audible, but it's consistent and kind of muffled, so not really all that bothersome. It does generate too much heat to have it on your lap comfortably.
It does have a nVidia Go6800 PCI-E GPU in it, but other than noise and heat, it doesn't seem to affect performance.

peedro,
hey. please if you could rename this thread. i'm currently formulating a new .als for the Live 5 performance test.
like the Live 4 performance test, the purpose is to compare machines to each other, not versions to each other. The Live 4 test added the new instruments that came with Live 4, and the .als i am formulating for the Live 5 Performance Test will add the new audio and midi devices, combined with Complex warping, and other cpu dependent features that have been added to the latest version etc. etc.
so please, if you could rename this thread to something like "live 4 test in live 5", as its not really a Live 5 Test, i would appreciate it.
and then i will start the new test and subsequent Live 5 Performance Test thread soon.
thanks.

Powerbook G4 1Gh
Ram: 1 Gb
Os: Tiger (10.4.2)
Audio Int.: M-audio FW 410
Ext HDD: LaCie D2 7200 - But I did not use it for this test.-
Waitting for the new one AJ, despite we already know the differences between computers, systems and so on...
Anyway, quite happy with this slighty improve on Live's permormance, at least on my computer...
Cheers ç:-)
