The more I play Ableton in a live setting, the nicer I think it would be to have some sort of API that would keep a running tab of things like:
Track Count
Clip Count
Clip Names
Clip Params
Playhead Positions
Effects
Effect Params
Then you could include the "AbletonLib" in the scripting environment of your choice and go to town.
