a little off topic, but the other wack thing about iTunes is that if you buy 500 songs there...it will cost you $500, whereas other subscription services would just cost you their monthly fee.

Yeah, it is a little hackneyed... but I personally still find it better than a lot of other ways. Even if you could download MP3's from iTunes, they still wouldn't load in live, and I doubt that ableton would bother to set itself us as a security decorder expressly due to the decode cache... however what do I know

I haven't played with any subscription services... are you allowed to burn CDs from the content you download?

Just to be clear...information about iTunes and their music format is everywhere online. You clearly made assumptions about their service without doing any research. $50 lesson, yes, but don't be pointing the finger of suck towards Apple. In no way did they mislead you.

This program removes the protection. Then, use another program to convert to MP3 or any other file format of your choice. Use Google to find a program to do that.

Fuck exporting and burning and whatever other tasking worthless step everyone told you to do. Just download this FREE software and run it. Its the simplest, fastest, most effective way to be able to use iTunes songs. BOTTOM LINE.

However, if you let your subscription lapse, even for just ONE MONTH, you lose ALL your rights to your music and have to buy it all over again.

Burn them on to CD and then convert to WAVs/AIFFs...

I guess the idea that legally you have no right to use them for anything but listening just went right the fuck over your heads?

whatever!!! these record labels have been screwing people for years including their artists.its about time they are taking it right back in the ass.as far as the poor people looting in neworleans more power to them.i hope they all are watching a big screen tv when their houses dry out.

i tried it ,but it kept crashing.it couldnt find my ipod which i had hooked up to my computer.damn i would love to get that to work.

try the hymn link above, it will scrub your files of drm, quicker than rerecording it with soundflower, and with no loss in quality due to conversion.

plus, you'll probably want to execute your fair use rights with your music at some point, so scrubbing the drm is just a good move all around.

Actually, it does convert to aif before converting to mp3. That is why it takes so long. (But its worth it)

Im not sure why you would want it to find your iPod? You want to scrub the files on your computer not your iPod.

Also, whats with all the talk about piracy, etc. There is nothing illegal about this. You have paid for the music, and you are using it. You are not transfering it to anyone else. You are simply converting it to a form that allows you to use it. Its no different than buying a CD and importing it to your computer to use on your iPod.

im not sure but every time i launched it crashed.i just gave up and did it with soundflower.oh well its all good.
