Yes,
The sony vaio grx 520 lap top that I have had for almost a year now has firewire, but on Sony they call it i-link. which is firewire but with a diffrent type conection. You can go to any computer store and they sell i-link to firewire cables and adapters. So sony lap tops do have firewire, they just call it i-link and gave it a diffrent plug. :wink:

RE Outputting your drum tracks: I may have misread your post, and am too frustrated to go back and look again, but if all you want is to have ten thousand people hear your drums through filters, do it the simplest way, from the headphone output...well, try it, anyway..if it sounds bad, I stand corrected. get a tiny headphone jack on a few feet of wire, with RCA's at the other end. ok I know that's too simple to work.

yeah, i've tried it before...problem is, headphone jacks aren't loud enough...so it would have to be amplified before entering the filters

would midi be the way to do it?

(Lap Top)------ > (Audio interface) ----- >(Mixer)-->(speakers)

\->(midi interface)<->(filter)
