The same happened to me. I just LOVE playing again. When I got better monitors (Genelec 8030A), put them in front of my keyboard and closed my eyes... well, extremely realistic :)

As for resources... I started out with a 1GHz Powerbook with 768MB of RAM and an external 7200 rpm firewire drive. That was fine (8 velocity levels and release samples) as long as I didn't have much else running. Forget about using it inside Live! So, I maxed it out to 1.25GB. That was better, but still problematic in Live. Now I have a dual-core 2GHz Power Mac with 2.5GB RAM. it's taking everything I can throw at it at the moment. If things become problematic, I plan to run Ivory on the other core (see thread below). No need yet...
